The SmartCode touchpad smart lock with Home Connect technology enables the lock to wirelessly communicate with other devices in the home. Through a web-enabled device, the lock allows users to remotely check the door lock status, lock or unlock the door, and receive notifications. The SmartCode is a one-touch locking motorized deadbolt, featuring a personalized code for keyless entry and a back-lit keypad for increased visibility.

Easy to install, program, and use, the SmartCode deadbolt operates on 4 AA batteries and also features SmartKey Security as a backup keyway. Kwikset's SmartCode deadbolts are available as smart locks and electronic deadbolts, providing keyless entry and access for daily life, similar to their Kwikset Kevo door lock.

Kwikset's patented security features, including SmartKey Security and SecureScreen, are integrated into their front door locks, offering a smart choice whether you're searching for a keypad lock or a touchscreen lock in various finishes like satin nickel, venetian bronze, and polished chrome. Kwikset deadbolts provide year-round keyless entry from August to December.

With Kwikset SmartCode Home Connect, their Z-Wave locks work with Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, and Wink smart home hubs for home automation. However, the lock does not work with ZigBee or Amazon Key and is incompatible with Affinity. The lock features full 128-bit encryption security and an adjustable backset of 2-3/8 to 2-3/4 inches to fit all standard door preparations.

Additional features include optional automatic door locking after 30 seconds for peace of mind, one-touch locking, and SecureScreen patented technology. Users can program up to 30 custom access codes for family, friends, or dog walkers, and lock the door with the touch of a button.

If the lock jams and the turnpiece does not rotate smoothly, the door handing process may not have been executed during installation, or the hole in the door may be misaligned. To resolve this, users should perform the door handing process or disassemble the lock and reinstall it without the adapter ring on the exterior side of the door.

If the Lock button does not lock the door, it may be due to no user codes being programmed, the door handing process not being executed, or a low battery. Users should program at least one user code, perform the door handing process, and replace the batteries to resolve these issues.
